OpenERP: Indian Accounting,HR and Payroll

We at OpenERP are more or less very involved in the process of fine-tuning and in a persistent goal of providing that “Complete Package”. In the last four years we have developed over 500 modules and we have reached far from our days since inception.

Indian Accounting

Developing the Indian accounting system was a interesting challenge, a puzzle that any whiz kid is desperate to solve. So after some research and study based on Indian standards and the procedures we passed the litmus test and developed requisites as per Indian standards.

Let me take you through a ride on what all we have included in our Indian accounting modules.

The three important reports every organization in India makes during a Fiscal year are:
1)Trial Balance report
2)Profit and Loss Account
3)Balance Sheet.

Reports can be generated using account_report_india module.

Vouchers reminds me of the old accounting joke that accountants find bookkeeping interesting because they lack sense of humor. With OpenERP bookkeeping would be more precise, interesting and reason to smile.

The following are the various types of Vouchers
Receipts
1)Bank Receipt
2)Cash Receipt

Payment
3)Bank Payment
4)Cash Payment

Others
5)Contra
6)General Purchase
7)General Sales

User can list all his entires(monthly/quarterly) based on these voucher types

Analytical accounting helps the customer in managing cost/profit analysis of all organizational (primarily operational) activities. Activity based accounting system hence is deployed in the system.

Generation of Invoices is possible through:
1)Tax Reports
2)Receivable and Payable reports

Indian Accounting module can be available from stable_5.0_extra-addons

Human Resource and Payroll:

OpenERP's human resource module enables to manage important aspects of staff work efficiently, such as their skills, contracts and working time. They not only play a heavy role in curbing the payload on the HR department day-in day-out, but also helps in maintaining documentation of all activities.

1)Employee Detail Management: Helps in maintaining records of employees with respect to departments and functional hierarchies

2)Attendance Management: The main objective of this module is to follow working hours of current projects and costs implications

3)Task Management/Performance Management: Periodical evaluation of the performance and the task completion of employees
